| Sherlock Holmes- I went to this movie as a very skeptical, long-time Sherlock Holmes fan. I'd been worried about Robert Downey Jr.'s portrayal of Holmes since I first saw the trailer. However, I came out of the movie thinking that it was quite good.... Click for full review.

| It seems the cinematic world believes we have not seen enough historical Monarch films, and I am thankful for them in thinking that because I simply love films of this sort, particularly something light and charming as The Young Victoria.
The Young Victoria outlines the early life of Queen Victoria (Emily Blunt), and her relationship with Prince Albert (Rupert Friend) and the British people. With her young age and inexperience, the young Queen Victoria puts her trust in Lord Melbourne (Paul Bettany) as her advisor, and while he did use her for his own political merits, the Lord Melbourne however does assist and guide the young Queen in her rule. While the young Queen desires independence, she is however struck with loneliness and confides herself in Prince Albert, whom she later married.
